This exploration of the cyclical relationship between mule deer and the moon features a blending of bronze and stainless steel—with the moon symbols reflecting a mirror polish.
Like the other Native-inspired shields in the series, the piece is fashioned after a traditional stretched-hide Native shield. The stag skull is sculpted by hand, based on an actual skull, and then cast in stainless steel. Aside from the polished moons, the remainder of the piece is cast bronze.
